Influence of conductive ceramics on the life of lead acid batteries
Tobolák, Jakub ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on lead-acid batteries used in hybrid electric vehicles. These cells work in specific conditions, particularly under partial charge referred to as PSOC. This fact is responsible for the premature loss of capacity cell lead-acid batteries and their short lifetime. The task of this thesis is to examine the effect of conductive ceramics as possible additives to the negative electrode active materials of lead-acid battery cells operating in a PSOC, in order to prolong their life.
The combined effect of glass fibers and titanium oxide as the negative electrode additive on the properties of the lead accumulator
Gerlich, Jakub ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problematic of lead acid batteries for HEVs. It starts with classification of electrochemical cells then proceeds to focus on lead acid batteries, mainly because they are the most used source of electrical power in automotive industry. The practical part of the work describes the process of manufacturing the electrode system used in the later parts. The experimental part is focused on the behaviour of the cells under conditions that appear in hybrid electric vehicles. The effect of aditives in active matter of the negative electrode on the parameters of the cells is observed, such as voltage, capacity and operating life
Study of internal resistance of the lead acid battery cell for hybrid electric vehicles
Vojtíšek, Miloš ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This work aims on acumulators for hybrid vehicles and deals particularly with research of inner-resistance of the lead-acid batteries. There is a brief characterization of hybrid cars in first part of the tesis. Second part is dealing with design of experimental measurement setup for measurement of lead-acid electrochemical cells. Set of experiments on several cells was performed, description of experiments and results in graphical form are present.
Study of active mass volume changes of lead acid battery electrodes
Nevoral, Miroslav ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with detailed study of influence of thurst on attributes of positive and negative electrode masses of lead acid battery electrodes with main accent on explanation of measured characteristics. Three kinds of electrode systems were put together and measured. Measured characteristics of changes of thurst power were recalculated during charging and discharging to changes of total thickness of system.
Influence of pressure and additives on cycle life of lead acid battery for hybrid electric vehicle
Přívozník, Tomáš ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with lead acid battery in hybrid electric vehicles which operating at mode of partial state of charge (PSoC). In this mode, there is often a negative electrode degradation mostly due to irreversible mechanism of suphation. The idea of this work is detect ideal value of mechanical pressure exerted on active mass of negative electrode in combination with additives to prevent mechanism of sulphation and lead to increased cycle life of lead acid battery.
The effect of pressure on the electrode system in lead acid batteries with experimental electrodes
Gerják, Rastislav ; Zimáková, Jana (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Lead acid battery is nowadays one of the most used secondary source of energy, especially in automotive industry. One of the most important parameters is battery life, which is result of quality of its design, proper handling and minimizing of degradation mechanisms. This bachelor’s thesis deals with premature capacity loss of lead acid batteries of hybrid electric vehicles in a partial state of charge. Assumed solution is adding additives to negative active mass and suitable adjustment of pressure on the electrode system.
Portable digitally controlled stabilized source of symmetrical voltage
Hynek, David ; Drexler, Petr (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with a design of a power supply for a measuring equipment for a geophysical mapping intended to do a reconstruction of an electrical impedance of a ground environment of water reservoirs. The power source is going to be used for laboratory measurements and for outdoor experiments. The thesis describes the selection of suitable components, equipment design and testing. The theoretical part explains the functions of used components and the principle of an electrical impedance tomography. The conclusion summarizes the properties of the proposed solution and evaluates the final product.
Lead-acid battery formation
Hlaváč, Pavel ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Vaculík, Sebastian (advisor)
This bachelor project deals with the pulse charging of lead-acid batteries and ways of formation of electrodes so that the new batteries can constantly offer high performance and efficiency for its life. The work is an attempt to compare and determine whether the formation of different charging modes will not have a major impact on the quality of a formed battery. The formation of the different modes uses both the pulse and continuous charging. Everything is tested on four manufactured articles. The production of positive electrode and formation of accumulator is processed in various chapters of my project at our workplace.
Automatized measuring apparatus for lead acid battery cells
Čapek, Ivo ; Lábus, Radek (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This presented work deals with the development of an automated station for the measuring of experimental cells of the Lead Acid Battery. The principle is to design a measuring station and make programs for cycling of cells in standard and PSoC modes.
Secondary resources of electrical power for mobile robotics
Špaček, David ; Hrbáček, Jan (referee) ; Synek, Miloš (advisor)
The main aim of this BA thesis is comparison and unification of secondary resources used for mobile robotics. Especialy through their performace, durability, composition, weight and price. The work should be used for choosing of the proper power supply needed for working some mobile device, if there are known basic operating parameters.
